Arenal Volcano to El Castillo - half day tour
This ride takes us on an old road connecting Arenal Dam with the main entrance to Arenal Volcano National Park. From there we go towards the village of El Castillo, biking on a quiet lane surrounded by dense forest and cattle farms. Along the ride we see howling monkeys, coatis, and birds like toucans, egrets and kingfishers. We’ll stop for a picnic on the shore of Lake Arenal where it’s possible to swim. The volcano is visible during the entire ride and we can usually hear its activity while we bike.

We’ll bike across Arenal Dam and bike on the road along the north side of Arenal Lake. This road has very little traffic and offers the most relaxing ride through tropical forest, home of monkeys and birds. We enjoy great views of the lake as well as a chance to experience the rural life in this remote part of Costa Rica. We’ll offer a picnic stop and lunch will be served at a restaurant at the end. We’ll return to our hotels crossing the lake by boat and enjoying imposing views of Arenal Volcano.

For those who like to ride hard without the pressure of a race we've developed our THREE VOLCANOES TOUR. This three-day ride rolls up and down hills, across rivers and through private ranches and national parks as it makes its way up Costa Rica’s Northern Volcanic Range. We carry tools and spares in our camel back while our support vehicle transports luggage daily to our overnight lodges.
We ride 4 to 5 hours each day and stay in the best lodges along the way to relax and enjoy the afternoon soaking in hot water pools while drinking a "michelada" (Cold beer with lime juice and salt) or while enjoying the longest canopy tour in Latin America.
