The extinct Volcano, called Cerro Chato, is located on the southeast side of the Volcano Arenal with a altitude of 1140 meters. We begin the journey transferring us from La Fortuna around the Arenal Volcano to get to the hotel Observatory Lodge.
From there we start the hike toward the summit of Cerro Chato through a very dense primary forest. When we arrived up we go to visit the lagoon on the top, where you can swim, besides take photos and discover the surroundings. Then, we continue descending, always enclosed of a very dense forest, where you could appreciate birds, plants, animals, insects and immense trees, as well enjoy the sensation of liberty having a beautiful view of the San Carlos Valley as well as of the Arenal Volcano.
The end of the walk will be in La Fortuna Waterfall, where we will descend on a steep trail to the base and enjoy a beautiful natural landscape that makes it very special. After a refreshing swim we will return to La Fortuna town by car.
